2023 Candidate Is Prime Minister Hun Sen

PHNOM PENH: Prime Minister Hun Sen reaffirms his candidacy for the post of Prime Minister for the upcoming 2023 election, saying that the election of Hun Manet as the future Prime Minister for the political party will be in the future.

The Prime Minister reaffirmed his candidacy at the inauguration ceremony of the Chom Chao flyover and tunnel on the morning of 31 March 2022.

Prime Minister Hun Sen said, "The CPP is a party with the angel logo, so I would like to confirm that the prime ministerial candidate for the 2023 election is Hun Sen…Hun Manet is a candidate in line of succession as a matter, of course, for each political party. Whatever other party organizes their succession, it is their business; we respect their decision, but they should also recognize the decision of the CPP as well because the preparation for the next generation must happen, otherwise crisis will occur.

In 2023, Cambodia will hold the election of the 7th National Assembly, which will create a new parliament to vote to give confidence to the new government.

Prime Minister Hun Sen has been the Prime Minister of Cambodia from 1985 to the present for 37 years and is one of the longest-serving Prime Ministers in the world.
